The Travis County Associate Judges have announced their rules for remote hearings during the COVID-19 shutdown.  My initial questions are how will they determine for which cases get a hearing other than those specified in the procedures, and how witness coaching from third parties and even lawyers will be monitored.    While I hope things return to normal as soon as possible, I think many of the provisions contained in this may survive the emergency including how exhibits are prepared and submitted.  This system seems far superior to bringing boxes of paper documents to Court and would cut down dramatically on lost time managing exhibits during a hearing.
